Applications Now Open For Reo Maori Songhubs Tamaki Makaurau 2021

When: Sunday 26 September until Friday 1 October 2021
Where:
Roundhead Studios in Tāmaki Makaurau
What:
Reo Maori SongHubs is a collaborative songwriting wananga presented by APRA AMCOS with the generous support of Te Mangai Paho. Reo Maori SongHubs brings together experts in music creation and waiata reo Maori to collaborate with a mixture of our best and brightest songwriters, artists and producers.

How SongHubs works:

Reo Maori SongHubs is a week long song-writing program to be held at Roundhead Studios in Tamaki Makaurau Auckland.

Each day our music curator, Bic Runga (Ngati Kahungunu, Rongomaiwahine) and reo curator Sir Tīmoti Karetu (Ngai Tuhoe, Ngati Kahungunu) will assign you to a different group to write a song with. This group will consist of a ‘lead’ songwriter (for whom you’re writing a song), a matanga reo/language consultant, a producer/engineer, and one other songwriter. These groups will each inhabit a separate studio space for the day.

Each songwriter will get the opportunity to be a ‘lead’ songwriter at least once, and will work with different producers and matanga reo across the week.

We are offering the following positions for Reo Maori SongHubs 2021

– 4 producers/engineers
– 8 songwriters

Travel, accommodation and meals will be provided.

Please read the eligibility criteria and fill out the application by 5pm on Friday 30 July to be considered for one of these positions.
