Sabreen Islam Shifts Gears Towards Pop With Catchy New Tune 'glow'

Following a stellar trio of soft, indie-folk releases in 2020, including Can’t, Let Me Dream A While and Summer Romance, Sabreen Islam is changing directions into the pop realm with her new vibrant single Glow, dropping Friday 23 July.

Sabreen Islam is an upcoming singer-songwriter hailing from Auckland, New Zealand, weaving her signature style with inspirations from the likes of Hozier, Conan Gray and dodie. Her upcoming single Glow was selected as a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition 2020, of which semi-finalists comprised just 9% of over 26,000 entries. Her debut collection of poetry Spring Clean reached #4 in Oceanian Poetry and #1 in Children’s Poetry upon its release on Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited in April 2019. She also played Auckland’s famous Others Way Festival in 2018 and has performed and worked alongside the likes of Jamie McDell. Recently, she played the Sunday Sessions at the inaugural GRRRL FEST 2021 in Kirikiriroa-Hamilton in May.

Glow marks the first of a trio of pop songs Sabreen plans to release in 2021. Produced with Auckland pop producer Will Henderson, it is a fun, catchy tune about falling in love as an adventure and the joy of finding people you simply click with. Layered with 80’s-style synths and dreamy harmonies, Sabreen takes listeners on a journey with her through the ups and downs of young love and how beautiful and magical things can turn out to be if done right.

Glow will be released on all music and streaming platforms on Friday 23 July 2021.
