Dead Little Penny Release Potent & Heartfelt Shoegaze Track ‘U 4 Me’

Dead Little Penny are proud to unveil their newest track, U 4 Me, a deeply personal and fluid piece of work penned by Hayley Smith in 2013.

With an intense electro beat layered with ethereal synth hooks and fuzzed out bass, Hayley’s vocals shine with pained potency in an introspective song that reflects her lowest times.

“I wrote this song probably in what I would say the most challenging and low points of my life. In my 20’s, facing a divorce and a complete life change, I sat perched on the end of the spare bed at my mum’s house, and really got down to business and pulled out all my uncomfortable feelings.

Basically, I felt like a total failure at life and love and I really needed to dig deep to look at that from a songwriting perspective. I’ve waited a few years to bring this out, and it just feels like the right time now” – Hayley Smith

Dead Little Penny are a two-piece Auckland electro/shoegaze act made up of Hayley Smith and Simon Buxton. Their latest song, Honeycomb was released to rave reviews, and their debut album, Urge Surfing is due for release later this year.
