Bored Gordon enjoy loud fuzzy guitars but place emphasis on the importance of a catchy melody. To have the audience get the song stuck in their head is the key.
Formed in May 2003 out of the ashes of the band Dozer, Bored Gordon has been the most solid unit for collaborators Simon and Marc. Paul migrated back north after drinking Otago dry and stumbled into the band, meanwhile Nick came along with the intention of broadening his horizons and ended up staying! After a year of performing together around the Auckland pub scene with such bands as Voom, The Sneaks, Lunavela, The Sushi and Jackpoint, a cohesive sound has developed. This has encouraged a small following to emerge and the band is keen to see the audience grow. Bored Gordon is totally self-sustained, writing and recording the music themselves.
