The finalists have been announced for the 2010 SOUNZ Contemporary Award. The three works, chosen from the 44 submitted for the annual composition award, were selected by a jury of four musicians on creative and artistic criteria including compositional excellence and inspiration. They are: ‘Inner Bellow’ for solo clarinet and electronic sounds by Chris Cree Brown; ‘Rudiments’ for orchestra by Chris Gendall; and ‘Violin Concerto No. 1’ by Ross Harris.
