Captain Blistermint explores the hands of love in new single ‘The Ladder’

Hailing from a 60’s British bubblegum ad, Captain Blistermint emerges to shake up the NZ indie/alternative rock scene with its soaring melodies and unified sound.
The Ladder – the first single of a forthcoming EP – is full of big hooks, bright vibes, and a sound that feels both brand new and strangely familiar [reviewzoo.co.uk] but – lyrically co-written directly by guitarist partner – speaks to the universal themes between two people in love: reaching for connection, loss, reconnection and ultimately hope. The song mixes nostalgia and emotion, using the rhythm section as the propulsive force, keeping a fresh and inventive feel. The single will be released on all music platforms on May 5th.
The band boils together from diverse international background to redefine the crossover of sound and emotion as can be found on their other recent release Aries Goddess, which blends Nirvana’s raw energy with Weezer’s playful quirkiness [GoodMusicRadar.com] and cheerfully dives into the fire of love, as can be seen in this video. You can also listen to the track directly here.
Upcoming gigs include:
- May 21st Battle of the Bands, Mothership
- May 24th, Captain Blistermint with Mojo Crow, Cupid Bar
- May 31st, Single Release Party, Cupid Bar
