Blod [Sic] Set To Release ‘The Space Between’ on 13 June

The Space Between by blod [sic] explores the vast empty space, the silence in the void, the sounds in that silence. Let the five instrumental tracks take you through these liminal spaces and soak in the haunting soundscape while you sink deeper into your subconscious.

This album was created entirely in a home studio in Auckland, New Zealand, using an iPad. It’s a mixture of heavily processed bass guitar, software synths (e.g. VHS Synth, ButterSynth) and hardware synths & samplers (Arturia Microfreak and EP-133 K.O. II). On top of that is, of course, a tonne of effects, which brings out the void in all of this.

In what has become somewhat of a tradition, one of the tracks contains some vocals by the artist’s 5-year-old daughter, run through the Microfreak’s vocoder and slowed down just enough.
