Rising Singer-Songwriter Jenni Smith Shares Wonderstruck New Single ‘Stuck On You’
Tamaki Makaurau-based pop-country singer-songwriter Jenni Smith reveals her new song Stuck On You, an enchanting anthem for anyone who’s ever been hopelessly (and a little creatively) fixated on someone.
Stuck On You is a wide-eyed pop-country single that captures the chaos of crushing hard, reflecting on how fascinating it can be. With a bright, modern production that blends country storytelling with glittering pop melodies, Stuck On You comes from a notebook full of daydreams and a head full of what-ifs. It’s the perfect soundtrack to every half-imagined love story you can’t shake.
Jenni says: “Sometimes as a songwriter I can get stuck writing about certain people or situations until I’ve processed all the emotions surrounding it. Stuck On You was written as a reflection of how many songs I’d written about a particular crush.”
Written by Jenni Stuck On You was recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered by Jenni’s regular collaborators: renowned engineer/producer Scott Seabright (Mumford and Sons, Broods, Six60), and musician Neo Aiono-Fukushima (Back to the Hillside). The track is also accompanied by an insightful homemade video solely created by Jenni.
The 24-year-old singer-songwriter happily embodies the girl-next-door trope with her romantic, personal song-writing style being a perfect match for the pop-country genre. Jenni lives and breathes music, and since joining New Zealand’s vibrant
country music scene at the age of 12, she can lay claim to a couple of notable achievements: taking out Songwriter of the Year at the 2018 NZCMA Entertainer of the Year Awards, and 2024’s song T-Shirt landing at #3 on the Official NZ Singles
Chart.
