Claudia Robin Gunn shares the beautiful ‘River Song’, and her new ‘Wonderful’ EP
Claudia Robin Gunn’s latest single The River Song is written for children, but if you heard it on the radio, you could easily think you were listening to a rising folk-pop star.
Claudia says The River Song “reaches back to all the many myriad singable campfire songs I remember from childhood”.
“This summer camp-style singalong’ is a metaphor for the journey of life that every kid undertakes while growing up. Seeking wonder, finding friends, facing challenges and appreciating the simple things in life and in nature.”
The whimsical one-take video for The River Song was directed by Michelle Sokolich, with styling by Evie Kemp.
The River Song is the latest single from Claudia Robin Gunn’s brand-new 6-track EP Wonderful, which is out today (Friday July 25) on Little Wild Music.
It’s a wonder-filled collection, produced and arranged by Tom Fox, with slices of country-pop sunshine, and affirmations, just right for making family road trips a little easier – even if they’re only as far as school and back.
Each track comes with an instrumental version, so kids and grown-ups can give their best renditions in the car, at school, or an imaginary stage in the living room.
Claudia says, “Kids are amazing, playful, helpful and Wonderful. I want to remind them of that with every song I write. “These singable songs are my way of honouring and being respectful of the wisdom, intelligence and courage children innately possess. They may have little ears, but they also have the biggest hearts!”
The Wonderful EP is the third in a trilogy. The Helpful EP was released in April, and the Playful EP landed in May.

Claudia won the Best Children’s Artist Tūi award last year for her album Firefly at the 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards, and her music continues to enchant families across Aotearoa and beyond.
