From private journals to paper, Indy Yelich’s pen speaks to the deepest, most honest experiences of her life. Her music transforms intimate confessions to indie pop melodies, exploring the liminal moment where adolescence meets adulthood, where private pain becomes public art, and flawed romantic love stories.

Born and raised in a coastal town in New Zealand, Indy recalls losing interest in drama classes as a child because she was “always more interested in creating the storyline than being in someone else’s.” Drawing early inspiration from poetry and a family of creatives, Indy learned to translate complex feelings into narratives that are universally understood. At 18, driven by a desire to forge her own narrative, she made the move from Auckland to Los Angeles, then to New York, a journey that would become the emotional backbone of much of her work. The relationships formed and lost, the public eye, and the search for creative identity, all influencing her songwriting to date.

Her debut EP Threads introduced listeners to her storytelling abilities, establishing her as a compelling new voice unafraid to share the messiest parts of human connection. The project was followed by a series of standalone singles – Killer, Hometown, Hero, and Freeloader. Most notably, Indy’s 2024 single East Coast captivated global listeners, driving over 2.5 million streams on Spotify.

After breaking into the scene as a fresh voice in contemporary music, Indy is releasing her sophomore EP, Fame Is A Bedroom, her most introspective work to date. The five-track collection serves as a sonic farewell to the intimate, flawed love stories that shaped her early twenties – from the fallout of age-gap relationships to the grief of homoerotic friendships, the ritual of goodbyes to the complex intimacy of sisterhood when the world is watching.
