The self-dubbed ‘worst band in Tāmaki Makaurau’ Late To Chelsea, are thrilled to announce the release of their first full-length album Some Good Times on 3 October 2025.

Filled with stanky basslines, head-banging breakdowns, and the odd offbeat rap verse, the album will be available across all streaming platforms.

It comes following the successful release of the outfit’s first single in nearly three years, Two Beers.

Some Good Times marks the step into a new sound for the band, adopting aspects of indie rock, Midwest emo, hardcore, nu-metal, and even hip-hop into a tapas-like record that joins together all of Late to Chelsea’s influences.

“As time’s gone on, all of our music tastes have evolved.  This album is a real reflection of how we as a band, over the last six years, have evolved as both people and musicians,” vocalist and guitarist Jack ‘Big J’ Horsnell said.

Some Good Times was recorded at Wade River Studios in the north of Auckland and produced by long-time friend of the band Tim Banks.

“Working with Tim has been great,” bassist Sam ‘Smashton’ Aston said.  “He’s been a real player for us — saying yes to pretty much every dumb idea we came up with, while also keeping us grounded somewhat.”

Forming while at high school in 2019, Late To Chelsea have been a longtime feature of Auckland’s punk scene, packing out venues across the city. The band — comprised of Jack Horsnell (vocals and guitar), Dave Hulbert (vocals and guitar), Sam Ashton (bass), and Jack McKenzie (drums) — grind together catchy riffs, clever lyrics reflecting everyday life, and an attitude of fun, making the audience the most important part of anything they do.

Some Good Times aims to bring all of these aspects together.

“I’m honestly so stoked to have this album out,” drummer Jack ‘JMAC’ McKenzie said. “This one is definitely a lot of fun.”

Late to Chelsea is also set to announce a second single for the album in the coming days, as well as a release party at Auckland’s Big Fan on 4 October.
