Brewtown set for Wellington’s biggest New Year’s Eve Party

The countdown is on: Brewtown’s legendary Brew Years Eve is back for 2025 – and it’s set to be the Wellington region’s biggest New Year’s Eve celebration. Pre-sale registrations open today (3 September), with general tickets available from 10 September. Known for transforming the capital’s nightlife every December 31, Brew Years Eve returns bigger, bolder, and built for one thing only: the party.
For the past two years, Brewtown has rung in the new year with blockbuster line-ups featuring Sublime with Rome, The Black Seeds, Dragon, Hello Sailor, and The Feelers. This year, the focus shifts – the headline act is the party itself with the best kiwi bangers of all time with Brewtown set for the biggest party in the capital.
“New Year’s Eve is about coming together, singing the songs you know, and letting loose,” says Brewtown Event Manager Phil Gorman. “People don’t come out just for a band – they come out to celebrate and party. So, this year we’ve gone all-in on creating the ultimate New Year’s Eve party vibe.”
That vibe will be soundtracked by some of Aotearoa’s most beloved live acts:
– Dragon – back by popular demand after a show-stopping 2023 set, with a catalogue of Kiwi classics that guarantee the bangers
– Jordan Luck Band – fronted by one of New Zealand’s most iconic voices, serving up a treasure trove of anthems.
– Automatic 80s – turning back the clock with synth-fuelled hits and retro energy.
– Blueprint – Brewtown’s New Year’s Eve crowd favourites, returning for their fifth year in a row.
The party won’t stop at the stage. Brew Years Eve 2025 will transform the covered Brewtown Greenspace into a festival playground complete with confetti cannons, streamers, bubble machines, and a retro dress-up theme to set the tone. This year the entire event will be held undercover – meaning Wellington’s unpredictable weather won’t get in the way of the celebrations as it has in the past.
“Dragon stole the show in 2023, and people told us they wanted them back – so we listened,” adds Gorman. “This line-up is about nostalgia, fun, and songs you know every word to. It’s the soundtrack to a night you’ll never forget.”
