While many know him for his work as a saxophonist, few realise that Bryn has been writing and singing his own songs for years. His upcoming single, Wherever You Are, will be released on September 26 across all streaming platforms.

“This project represents a kind of return to my roots,” Bryn explains. “Many of these songs have been with me since 2016. I’ve revisited them over time like old friends. Wherever You Are reflects on the cycles of heartbreak, heartache, and the naivety of a former life.”

The track marks Bryn’s first new release since his self-titled 2019 EP and showcases a distinctive sound influenced by classic songwriters like Paul Simon and Paul McCartney, blended with modern folk stylings of Gregory Alan Isakov and José González. Featuring poignant vocals, sensitive accompaniment & lush live strings, this song pulls at the heartstrings with its raw honesty & depth. Bryn’s years as a jazz and session musician add unique textures, drawing on pop, soul, and jazz influences to create a rich, thoughtful listening experience.

To celebrate the release, Bryn will perform with his full band on September 26 at Bedlam & Squalor, Wellington, with the great Iris Little opening the night. More info/tickets here.
