Lexytron Releases ‘Stone Cold’ Single + Video
John & Yoko. Jack and Meg. Now Lexy & Mike – a creatively offbeat English husband and wife songwriting and musical duo based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) NZ. Following Lexytron’s genre-bending debut album Something Blue, lead singer Lexy slips into something more electronic on Something New, pairing an alternative pop rock style with sardonic wit, big choruses, and a painful honesty that has now become her trademark. The album was self-produced in Auckland and mixed and mastered by London producer Marco Meloni. It won Lexytron international critical acclaim and appearances in leading music blogs like Earmilk and Obscure Sound (US), The Listening Post on Fresh On The Net (UK) and plays on several stations including Amazing Radio (UK and US).
Today, Friday 19 December 2025, Lexytron release their newest track and video Stone Cold:
“I have very vivid memories of writing this song in my cold Swedish apartment after I walked home shivering from a night out when all forms of transport were broken down and it was -20’C. It’s funny how a visceral reaction can spark something so stark, icy, and emotionally arresting. I brought the song to my husband Mike and we re-worked the track, so it sounded like a cross between The Cure’s moodiness and the cinematic intensity of a Christopher Nolan soundtrack. It is track 10 on my album ‘Something New’, which is out now. The animated video features footage of a vintage Felix the Cat trapped in an Arctic paradise.”
