Amelie Rose Releases Debut Single
Amelie Rose is an indie/dream pop artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau. After performing with the band The Darlings, she is now stepping into her solo project, creating music that explores coming of age and the mix of emotions that come with growing up and finding yourself.

After a lifelong battle with emetophobia (an intense fear of throwing up), Amelie Rose’s debut single, Free, was born. The song was written from Amelie’s experience living with emetophobia and the process of overcoming it.
At its core, the track reflects the tension between fear and the desire for freedom, capturing what it feels like to begin stepping back into life after being held back by anxiety.
The song marks a deeply personal moment for Amelie, both lyrically and creatively, and is something she is passionate about raising awareness for. As her first release since leaving her band, The Darlings, Free also signals a shift toward
a more honest and vulnerable direction in her music.
