Rachel Hird

Emerging from a world of classical music Rachel Hird has found a way of bringing stories to life through song. A touch of nostalgia permeates her lyrics whilst we are reminded of the changing landscape and awesome natural forces we live with in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Uncomplicated arrangements add groove to the songs and cool, catchy riffs create choruses to remember. Her first EP, Through The Page, traverses the twentieth century with songs of a personal and historical nature, gaining intensity throughout. Rachel can be found in Wellington where she runs a monthly Songwriters’ Saturday at The Realm, Hataitai.
