Wāhine Grunge-Punk Quartet The Sour Reveal Debut EP ‘Daughters’

Tāmaki Makaurau-based four-piece The Sour are a band of wāhine bonded by a shared love of grunge, punk, and all things loud and heavy. Today they release their highly anticipated debut EP, Daughters.
The first single, Your God & Mine, debuted at #1 on the bFM Top 10 and quickly gained attention from listeners, DJs, and tastemakers across Aotearoa, cementing the band as one of the most exciting new heavy acts to watch.
Second single Hex is a riff-heavy grunge-rock anthem about revenge and being underestimated. Undertheradar described it as: “Hex delivers sweet / snarling grungy hook power in abundance.”
Joining the singles are two fuzz-fuelled tracks, Drinking On A Sunday and You, completing the EP.
“A debut EP that doesn’t just ask for your attention, it demands it.” – Carl / Muzic.NZ
Daughters captures the band’s love of heavy riffs, gritty hooks, and unapologetic attitude, while also celebrating friendship, whakapapa, and the power of wāhine making loud music together.
To celebrate the release of Daughters, The Sour are performing two shows in Te Ika-a-Māui this May.
Catch them live at Auckland’s Whammy Bar on Saturday May 9th, joined by Maebh & The Morrigan and Paul Cathero.
They’ll then head to Wellington’s Moon Bar on Saturday May 16th with support from Dateband and The Early 20’s.
Tickets on sale from undertheradar.
