Bunchy’s Big Score Releases a Classic Once in a Lifetime Album

After months of extreme anticipation from fans all across Aotearoa, Bunchy’s Big Score have finally unveiled their beautiful, ravishing second studio longplayer, Wanda’s Bicycle recorded with the mythical Nick Roughan at Southlink Studios, and mixed and mastered by honorary bandmate Hamish Waddell.
The Big Score have brought forth a handful of tasters across the past few months including the anthemic Oscar Says (which has had significant chart success #1 Srn, R1, and RDU), the endearingly anxious love song You Are a Camera, and most recently the moody but catchy, I Don’t Wanna Dance. While these are perhaps the LP’s most immediate extracts, Wanda’s Bicycle boasts an eclecticism of noisy, rip-roaring full band tracks like The Sound and the Fury, and Bad Things Could Happen, as well as pensive, and intensely close softer tracks like There Goes My Head and Quasimodo.
Bunchy’s also prove to be capable of blending these two categories into one track, evident in Hey George! And Old Iron. While Wanda’s Bicycle is a record decorated with a variety of styles, perhaps the clearest throughline are the magnitude of the feelings expressed, feelings of intense happiness, curiosity, venomous spite, dissociative sadness, romantic and platonic love, and other feelings that coalesce to delineate the human experience.

Bunchy’s Big Score are itching to get on the road and share this new material in the flesh with the world on the Wanda’s Bicycle tour, kicking off in their hometown, Ōtepoti on release day (June 19th) at Yours. The tour continues up to Ōtautahi at darkroom the following day, after which the big score head to the North Island in July. Tickets are already flying away like little monarch butterflies, so grab one while you can at the link below.
