Rebecca Robin, performing as Ruby Kush Music, is a Christchurch-based artist, songwriter, and creative practitioner whose work blends contemporary pop, R&B, rap, and Te Ao Māori storytelling into music that is both deeply personal and socially meaningful.
A resident artist with Toi Ōtautahi, Rebecca has spent more than 11 years building an established creative practice spanning music, performance, community engagement, and advocacy. In 2024, she released her debut EP, Stardust, introducing audiences to her honest songwriting and emotionally rich sound.
Rebecca is now preparing to release new music created with internationally renowned producer Greg Haver and acclaimed Māori artist and mentor Henare Kaa, continuing to expand her artistic vision through collaborations that bridge contemporary music and cultural storytelling.
Alongside her recording career, she is dedicated to empowering other independent artists by sharing practical industry knowledge through music education and release strategy workshops.
Through Ruby Kush Music, Rebecca creates work that is authentic, evocative, and grounded in connection – drawing inspiration from identity, resilience, community, and the landscapes and stories of Aotearoa. With each new release, she continues to establish herself as a distinctive and compelling voice in New Zealand’s independent music scene.
