Hope is back with a new flirty and feminine reo-rua track, Hina. Hina has soul straight from the source – it’s inspired by the moon and written from the perspective of te marama herself.

Delving deeply into R&B textures, Hope’s vocals weave tones that are light as silk and velvet-rich as the night sky. The pure beauty and magnetism of Hope’s experience watching the moon rise for the first time on the East Coast of Aotearoa during a Precise Writing Camp captures you completely, complemented by production that feels as though it’s been bathed in the glow of te marama.

This waiata release, much like Hina herself, is a part of something bigger – a mission to take Reo Māori to the world. After performing at the AMAs and receiving a double nomination for track Taukaea in the first round of the 2026 Silver Scrolls, Hope is currently in London alongside fellow artists MOHI and Jordyn with a Why to showcase the mana of the reo on the world stage. What better way to celebrate Te Wiki o te Reo Māori? While in the UK, the group will be recording reo māori versions of popular songs at Abbey Road. Including Rein Me In, which Sam Fender has personally given permission for.

Hina is the perfect encapsulation of the moment for Hope – a waiata that’s grounded in the whenua while shooting way up to the stars where it belongs.
