Reb Fountain Tour Starts Thursday + ‘Swarm’ Video Out Now

Critics are calling Reb Fountain’s new album Water for Gasoline, ‘Essential’ (RNZ), ‘Exceptional’ (Elsewhere), ‘Epic’ (SRN) and ‘Fountain’s best work yet’ (Chris Schulz, Boiler Room).

Reb Fountain hits the road this week for her Water for Gasoline national tour, beginning this Thursday 1 October at Hamilton’s Last Place. Joined by her full band – Dave Khan, Earl Robertson, Dianne Swann and James Duncan they will traverse Aotearoa throughout October, wrapping up at Meow Nui in Wellington on Saturday 24 October.

Demand is already strong, with two shows in Dunedin at Pearl Diver and the Christchurch show at Loons sold out, prompting a second date to be added in Ōtautahi on Thursday 8th October.

Out today, Water for Gasoline’s newest visual offering, Swarm is released. A beautifully restrained accompaniment to one of the record’s most delicate and affecting songs. Directed by Reb’s daughter Lola Fountain – Best.

Reb wrote Swarm in the hammock in her backyard and recorded it in her home studio for her new album Water for Gasoline. Swarm was filmed on camcorder at Reb’s place and features Taco Fuente the cat and Huey Lewis the dog.

Released in August and debuting at #1 on the NZ Top 20 Album Chart, Water for Gasoline has remained in the Top 10 for six consecutive weeks to date. Written and recorded in Reb’s garage studio, the entire album was completed and released within the turning of a moon. It’s immediate, it’s human and it’s an album for now.
