Silcrow Bring Live Favourite ‘Falling Now’ to Life on New Single

Auckland rock four-piece Silcrow return with new single Falling Now on October 16, a dark, heavy track that has spent the past few years becoming a favourite in the band’s live set.
Falling Now is about being stuck inside your own head, coming to terms with new realisations while still clinging to what feels familiar. There’s an almost dream-like sense of falling endlessly when everything around you becomes too much.
The song moves between wide-open verses and a high-energy chorus before dropping into a heavy closing breakdown. Guitar and drums were recorded live without a click track, allowing the song to naturally slow down and giving the final section much of its weight.
The band worked on the track with producer Troy McKubre, including reshaping an intro they had jokingly given the working title ‘Shihad’ after noticing an accidental similarity to a song by the legendary New Zealand band. It was never written with Shihad in mind, but the band are happy to consider what remains a small nod to one of New Zealand rock’s greats.
Falling Now follows recent single Unclean, which reached #10 on the Radioscope Rock chart and picked up high rotation on The Rock’s Kiwi Rock Discovery, alongside support from Radio Hauraki and independent rock radio.
Since forming in 2018, Silcrow – Lorenzo Hazelwood (vocals), Oscar Miller (guitar), Carl Stieller (drums) and Louis Simpson (bass) have clocked more than 200,000 combined streams, sold out local shows and supported Skinny Hobos and Shepherds Reign.
Now signed to Precise Digital, Silcrow will take Falling Now back on the road with a run of live dates across November and December.
