Matt Sephton Releases Music Video for ‘Siva’

Matt Sephton has today released the music video for Siva, a vibey, bass-heavy track, from his album Vā.

Filmed on a beach on the south coast of Upolu, the video is all motion – sandy, fresh, energetic. The awesome Tiapapata Youth Group put together a routine of two dances, a fa’ataupati and a sāsā, choreographed by Vaisuala’o Sealiimalietoa.

“This was such a fun video to make. The crew really took it and made it their own, such a cool group to work with, really positive and full of creative energy,”

Siva is from Vā, Matt’s debut album under his own name, which charted at #12 on the Aotearoa Albums chart. Vā was recorded during a 2025 artist residency at Tiapapata Art Centre in Samoa. The track revolves around a thick, pushing bassline with complex rhythms, layered from pātē drums and fala performed by video director Peniamina Percival, plus cicadas, taro being scraped and snippets of voice performed by Samoan rapper Moonshine OSKK.
