From hip hop and soul to rock, reggae and electronic beats, Jim Beam Homegrown has added nine more Kiwi acts to its 20th anniversary lineup, with Nesian Mystik, Hollie Smith and rising stars The Boondocks among the latest names heading to Kirikiriroa Hamilton on Saturday 3 April 2027.

Jim Beam Homegrown CEO Andrew Tuck says the second announcement brings together established Kiwi favourites and emerging talent, reflecting the breadth of music being made in Aotearoa.

“Twenty years on, Homegrown is still about celebrating the incredible variety of Kiwi music and giving our artists a massive stage to share it with fans. We’ve got artists who have been part of the soundtrack to our lives for decades, sharing the bill with emerging talent who are making their mark right now. That’s what Homegrown has always been, and continues to be, about.”

Returning hip hop favourites Nesian Mystik, who helped farewell Homegrown’s Wellington waterfront era in 2025, will join acclaimed soul singer Hollie Smith, while Kiwi hip hop group Home Brew returns after a two-year hiatus, and hot newcomers The Boondocks will bring their high-energy rock sound to one of the festival’s biggest stages.

“Watching The Boondocks go from entering our emerging artist competition last year to taking over the Rock Stage just 12 months later is exactly what Homegrown is all about,” says Tuck. “Nothing excites us more than seeing Kiwi talent break through. Homegrown isn’t just about celebrating the country’s biggest names, it’s about creating opportunities for the next generation, giving emerging artists a platform to grow, connect with new audiences and take their music to that next level.”

The latest announcement also spans the full spectrum of Kiwi sounds, with MT EDEN B2B EMWA bringing bass-heavy electronic music, Hamilton-born MYSHAAN returning home with his blend of R&B, reggae and Pacific soul, and double-platinum artist Lomez Brown adding his signature Polynesian reggae.

Rounding out the second wave are recently reunited pop-rock favourites Zed and returning Homegrown favourite, DJ Kane Hawkins.

Tuck says this second announcement of Kiwi talent adds to an already incredible line up of homegrown talent that makes the Aotearoa music industry so special.

Jim Beam Homegrown tickets are in high demand for the festival’s 20th year with only general GA and a select number of VIP tickets left. Tickets available at homegrown.net.nz
