Soul Pāua returns with Never a Good Time to Leave, the first song and video from their upcoming album, Mountains and Spirits, planned for release in May 2027. Never a Good Time to Leave is out today on Rezonate Records.
The song is about accepting when things come to an end, acknowledging what was – but leaving before good memories are overtaken by the bad.
From the creators of the award-nominated album Pōhew, the song showcases the band’s signature strong melodies and hooks, and blend of acoustic guitar, soul and rock – with Māori, Samoan and New Zealand cultural identity.
