Album Review: GT42

GT42 is a Wellington duo that deliver a hypnotic blend of edgy melodic rock that is flawless and brilliant.

GT42 is their self titled debut album and is comprised of fourteen sublime tracks that defines their 80s and 90s crunchy riff laden melodies, with a tinge of pop.

Each track ebbs and flows into something pretty exciting. To hear such stunning production and musicianship in each song, that is also lyrically appealing to any rock fan.

Both Steven Haughey and Vinnie McParland show such maturity and strength in their musical abilities, in part, this is what makes for such a strong album and very captivating.

The delicate vocals, soft synthesizers, lingering riffs, every aspect of this album will appeal to a lot of music fans.

Stand out tracks are No Regrets, Dreamy and Ocean – no doubt you’ll be hitting play more than once.

A brilliant effort for these two and I can’t wait to hear what their future sounds like.
