I have just had the pleasure of listening to a 5 Track EP with real music packed with positive themes that just flow with acoustic beauty. Mr Crawshaw’s has crafted a modern folk sound with real feeling and his singing is just beautiful, the vocals are crisp and expressive, and the feelings he exposes comes through as very tender and emotive. The opening track Phoenix Burning sets the tone with its uplifting tune and empowering theme. With Keep on Loving on You he continues the restorative feel with another strong theme driven with a sturdy rhythm. The dynamic w/ Feeling is a superb track that awakens your senses nicely, and it offers hope with the author offering support and strength, from someone that has seen the dark times.
The instrumentation is earthy and real, with lovely guitar and keyboards and piano, while the bass and drums are solid and smooth throughout, like in My Empyre which showcases wonderful guitar work and a soaring chorus tune. The melody and harmonies on the last track Speed Bump give you goose bumps, such is the beauty that it conjures, very expressive and persuasive.
The general structure of the music is reminiscent of traditional folk songs but they offer that little bit more complexity and texture, you can hear and feel so much emotion you cannot resist engaging with the music and the message in the songs. This is one EP that I highly recommended in every way.
