Still relativity new in Wellington’s music scene, Jesse Sheehan is fast shedding some light as to why he’s about to become the next big thing in the Capital’s indie scene. This young talent is creating a stir in the indie folk world, just having released his second EP; How The Light Gets In.
This six track EP is a beautiful melody of simple tunes with some captivating lyrics, sung by an otherworldly voice that far precedes his young years. The first track, Sunshine is straight into a lightly upbeat number accompanied with backing vocals of fellow bands members. The songs stay light until track four, Meredith; a haunting and very melancholy piece that really makes you stop and listen. Paving the way for the rest of the remaining tracks, they show depth, age and wisdom.
A truly uplifting, sorrowful packed EP that makes you feel like you are watching him perform live for an audience of one. Watch this space for great thing to follow from Jesse Sheehan.
