Awakening To The Truth Album Review 1

Review of Transmute CD -  3.5/5

Tranzmute is a hip hop artist exploring the social, political and spiritual aspects of the human experience. In 2010 he began work on his debut album Awakening To The Truth which has just been released. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed listening to this album, especially tracks 8 with MC Ominis called We Crazy and Track 11 Left Me. All 16 tracks are easy to listen to, similar to the stuff that would play in the background at a hipster restaurant/bar on a Saturday Night, which makes it pretty good.

When asked about his creative direction and the lyrical content of the album, Tranzmute explains “We are in a time of reawakening and that’s what making music is about for me. It’s me standing in my truth, hoping to open the hearts and minds of people in the process. We all need to take responsibility for our contribution to the state of the world. If we want change, then we need to walk our talk… change starts within.”
