Rise & Shine Album Review

Duo Adeaze have released their second album called Rise & Shine, a follow up to the brothers’ double-platinum debut album Always and for Real, which was released in 2004.  After taking time to focus on family and song writing, the Adeaze brothers have constructed a beautifully harmonious 12 track album. Pacific pride and language features highly in each track along-side the classic Adeaze style of lyrics.

Kicking off with the first single ‘Got My Girl For Life’ it sets up a cute romantic tone that carries through the whole album. Solid guitars and minimal variations from the tried and true that make Adeaze so brilliant and genuine in what they do. ‘Broken Promises,’ the follow up second single, is a song that has a fullness showcased through distinct harmonies and heart that is poured into this track about enduring everyday life. 

The title track ‘Rise & Shine’ is an upbeat love letter to encourage people not to give up and push through hardships, knowing that dreams do come true. The third single from the album called ‘Paradise,’ continues to lead listeners on a journey of not giving up or quitting and into finding their own paradise. Adeaze brought together friends, family and local artists such as Che Fu, Vince Harder, Pele Nili, Lapi Mariner, Te Awanui Reeder, Pieter T, Jason Kerrison (OpShop) and Don McGlashan to collaborate and help develop another masterpiece by the boys from South Auckland.

Adeaze have said so many times that their inspiration comes from their lives, and this album is filled with stories of love – lost and found – but ultimately of hope. This album reflects a passion and commitment to listeners whoever they may be, and one of them should definitely be you!
