At Luke Buda’s gig at the San Francisco Bathhouse last night, a youthful Bachelorette opened for him. Her musical style was fitting for the type of music which was to come, and was relaxing entertainment until Buda took the stage. Standing solo Bachelorette looked more comfortable than most on the stage, and played music which seemed to reflect her personality a lot.
Switching in between guitars and keyboards with ease, each song was harmonious and delicate in its unique way. It’s been a long time since I have heard a woman with such a beautiful voice, and it was a pleasant change. Powerful choruses seemed all too easy as they were nailed again and again, much to the audiences’ awe. The keyboards were almost psychedelic, and had me entranced from song beginning to end. Accompanying backing tracks were ideally picked, and really enhanced Bachelorette’s performance.
Bachelorette was the perfect way to start a Luke Buda performance, and I will jump at the chance to see this sexy young vocalist play again.
