Christchurch band CyberManic is a powerful mix of metal, industrial rock, and aggrotech. James Williams (vocals/guitar/synth), Amanda Gray (bass), & Hannes Danielsson (drums) centre their music and lyrics around the use and misuse of technology, and soul-crushing self reflection in an increasingly dog-eat-dog world. Robots, rotten relationships, revenge, and retribution feature heavily in the lyrics, which are woven through breakneck drum rhythms, tribal guitar and bass attacks, and distorted synth lines that propel the songs to unexpected heights.
Major musical influences are Rammstein, Static-X, early Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, Pendulum, Atari Teenage Riot, amongst a thousand others.
