Fairly Obvious are a progressive pop-punk band from Taupō, New Zealand, blending big hooks with restless energy. In early 2026, the band opened for Zed, Iggy Pop, and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts at the Summer Concert Tour – a huge milestone for a band that only begun writing original material months earlier.
The Taupō four-piece assembled a full set of original songs and released their debut single Picnic Holiday soon after, followed by the next single, SpaceBetween, released August 6, 2026. Their debut album is in the final stages of production for release in September and alongside a powerful live show, Fairly Obvious are quickly building momentum and establishing themselves as one of New Zealand’s emerging acts to watch.
