Mala is a Wellington-based singer-songwriter who has been writing songs since she was eight. Her earlier releases lean more towards indie pop and alternative sounds, while her newer music is moving in a softer, folk-inspired direction, with acoustic instrumentation and storytelling becoming a bigger part of her sound. Drawing inspiration from folk, indie and pop. Mala continues to develop her sound through songwriting, recording and live performance.
