Amiria Grenell is currently attending her last year of NASDA (Bachelor of Performing Arts). Starting young in the Kirwee Players ‘The sound of Music’, and continuing on to theatre such as Linnaeus, Baby, Jane Eyre and ‘The Maids’ which was at the Christchurch Court Theatre more recently.

Her solo music career has blossomed over the last 3 years playing live on TV shows such as ’CRY TV’ (music Television) and the CTV breakfast show.

Amiria is a highly regarded singer/songwriter and recording artist who has played at The Gathering three years running, Destination dance festival, The Kaikoura Roots Festival and ‘Visionz’ Music Festival. She won the ‘woman musicianship award’ in Rockquest as a solo artist in 2001 and is focussing on finishing her degree this year and hopes to record and perform overseas next year. Her recent highlights have been playing around Christchurch for New Zealand music month – May. At The Dux, Christchurch city Library, Mainstreet bar and the ‘TV2 National Anthem’.

Amiria mainly focuses on playing the guitar and singing but also enjoys playing the violin, bouldron (irish drum), piano, didgeredoo and percussion instruments.

Her style is of contemporary folk and she sings all original
songs.
