Silk Cut

Tāmaki Makaurau’s Silk Cut is shock jangle pop with melody and bends. Inspired by the huge sonic canvases created by bands like Bailter Space, Straitjacket Fits, Bird Nest Roys, Ride and MBV, as well as the song writing economy, melody and harmony of fab British bands from the 60s and beyond.

Silk Cut are well known for delivering powerful and compelling live performances, and have had the honour of accompanying Salford stalwarts Happy Mondays and twice (!) supporting Australian legends Hoodoo Gurus. The band’s latest support was with Northern Ireland power pop trio Ash at the Tuning Fork.
