My name is Melanie White. I live in Dunedin  –  born and bred.

I love music and have been attending gigs since I was 17.

I sing and play violin and piano ( not well) although it has been many years since I played, and love all kinds of music, especially NZ music

I also write, I love to write and have been writing poetry since I was 13.

I am also the partner of the late Martin Philipps, who I’m sure needs no introduction

We were together 18months before he died in 2024 and we were very close

We often went to gigs, talked about music and he introduced me to a few people.

He was always surprised how much I knew about music and I even knew some artists, bands and songs he didn’t!

Writing has been a good outlet for me so I decided to combine my passion for writing and music.
