Which NZ artist/band do you think will be a huge international success one day?
I think there alot of New Zealand artists that could do well, i think its just a matter of good marketing & knowing the right people because we definitely have alot of talent over here.
Who would you most like to tour with?
I’m more than happy just doing a tour with my crew but i think being apart of the hook up tour entourage would be a good experience,
What is your most embarrassing concert moment?
Losing my voice half way a during the song but luckily it was on the last song of my set.
What are you planning on doing during 2005?
Finishing up my album titled "Before now" which i plan to release in the 1st quarter of 2006 and promoting myself and superior 4tress (www.superior4tress.com) anyway possible.
How did you come up with the name Kapabal?
Kapabal is my way of spelling capable, I believe I’m capable of anything i put my mind to. Cape crusader mixed with a cannibal put that together and you get kapabal, cape crusader meaning I’m here to help other people like hip hop saved me and cannibal i eat anyone that gets in my way (not literally its a metaphor).
What is in your CD collection at home?
I dont know where to start i have alot of CD’s, at the moment I’m listening to alot of immortal technique and i also like Game’s album "The documentary". The last NZ CD I bought was Footsouljahs "Puttin in Work".
What advice would you give other budding musicians/bands?
Use your mind, you can do anything in life if you put your mind to it. Be proud of what you’ve achieved and don’t let what you haven’t achieved bring you down, only you can truly measure your success.

About the interviewer Lisa Jones

I’m Lisa, Muzic.NZ’s founder and manager. I also manage the Aotearoa Music Industry Collective as well as the Aotearoa Rock Community and the Gig Space Facebook groups. Born and raised in New Plymouth, and now based in Palmerston North – I’m married to Adam (our IT guy), and together we have 2 amazing children. Rock is my favourite genre of music, but I enjoy a huge variety of genres from old school hip-hop through to metal, punk, pop, folk and EDM. My advice to NZ musicians is to build yourself a great support network, never be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and talk to other people involved in the music industry. And don’t give up.. as long as you love what you are doing, don’t stop doing it. If you believe in yourself, you can achieve anything. — MUZIC.NZ (MNZ) WEB: https://www.muzic.nz/ FB: https://www.facebook.com/muzicnetnz IG: https://www.instagram.com/muzicnz/ YT:
