Over the past year, the Ōtautahi six-piece have been dropping singles from their upcoming album The Way We Love, which is out on Friday November 28. The album contains the title track The Way We Love, which has clocked up tens of thousands of streams on Spotify alone, the funk-filled Supernova Feat Laughton Kora and radio hit, Proud; joined now by Nothings Wrong.

Today’s release, Nothings Wrong was written by 1 Drop Nation band members Kanei Johnson and Paerau Hemopo, and produced and engineered by the legendary Dr Lee Prebble (L.A.B., The Black Seeds, Trinity Roots), Nothings Wrong delivers an uplifting message.

“This song is about not sweating the small stuff, not rushing the good times and enjoying being in your own shoes. Nothing’s wrong!” says Kanei.

Nothings Wrong perfectly sums up 1 Drop Nation’s feelgood reggae-meets-pop vibe, and also captures the essence of the band. “We like to take our time with creativity and enjoy all the moments that are attached to the ride of making music.”

1 Drop Nation is a force to be reckoned with in Aotearoa’s thriving reggae scene. They’ve long been considered one of Christchurch’s best live acts and recently supported Corrella on their nationwide tour. They have also performed at some of the largest festivals in New Zealand, including Rhythm and Alps, Fritter Fest and three times at Electric Avenue.

1 Drop Nation is made up of Derin Thompson (keyboards, backing vocals / Nga Tai Ki Torere), Paerau Hemopo (guitar / Ngāi Tahu, Te Arawa, Ngā Puhi), Burke Goffe (guitar / Ngā Puhi, Te Ātiawa) Marc Hansen (drums), Dru Sione (bass, backing vocals), and Kanei Johnson (lead vocals / Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Kahungunu).
