Written in his bedroom studio, the track captures a unique balance of raw jungle energy and emotive electronic textures, cementing Sless’s place as a distinctive new voice in drum and bass.

The inspiration for Stuck in a Dream came from a pivotal period in Sless’s life. “I made it during a time in my life where I was making all these great memories, but then it came to a sudden halt and everything kind of stopped for a while,” he explains. “I wanted to revisit those memories with my music and capture the emotion of that period, so the track became a way to bring those feelings back out again.”

Sonically, the single draws from a diverse range of influences while maintaining Sless’s signature touch. “I was really inspired by Flume style synthesizers and wanted to bring that into a drum and bass tune,” he says. The track layers shimmering, melodic plucks and arpeggios; recurring motifs in Sless’s productions, on top of gritty jungle drums and a rich low end.

The result is a fusion that feels both nostalgic and forward-looking, combining textures rarely paired in the genre.

“The feeling I was having in life while I was making it really influenced the track,” he reflects. “I wanted something that sounded emotional yet energetic, almost nostalgic. I’ve always loved the Flume style sound, and I’m also really into jungle drum and bass, so I wanted to mix the two together in a way I feel hasn’t been done before. My goal was to create something super unique.”

Every detail of Stuck in a Dream was crafted by Sless himself, with no outside collaborators. Recorded entirely in his bedroom studio, the track is a testament to the possibilities of DIY production. “It took a long time to make,” he admits, “but every time I listen to it, it reminds me of that period in my life, and I’m hoping it resonates with others in the same way.”

For Sless, the song isn’t just a personal milestone, it’s also a statement of intent as he develops his sound and presence in the scene. “I feel really good about it. I think it’s something new that hasn’t been done before, and I managed to push my experiences into a song.”

With its combination of emotional depth, innovative sound design, and dancefloor-ready energy, Stuck in a Dream is a standout release that showcases Sless’s ability to turn personal reflection into music that connects universally.
