Battle Of The Bands Winners!

Saturday Night saw the National Final @ Galatos, the Auckland venue was sold out with a fantastic turn out, the audience thoroughly enjoying the 12 competing bands.

For those who missed the show, it was a fantastic night featuring many quality bands from around New Zealand. With a variety of Musical styles from Reggae to heavy metal, there was something for all. Pulling out a non-stop, in-ya-face, tight performance, Auckland’s North Shore, metal outfit, SIX-DAY WAR took out 1st place.

2nd place went to West Auckland’s more commercial rock band, MOZELEE, followed in 3rd place by Napier’s VOODOO BUTTER, playing their own brand of metal / industrial rock. A tough night to judge, most people agreed the standard this year was better than ever. We’d like to make a speical mention to the bands that travelled long distances for the show, some of which we’re on 4 days bus journeys!

The event has been a great success this year, and next year we will of course be back, with the addition of new countries, in what will be named: THE WORLD BATTLE OF THE BANDS, with the ‘World Final’ to be held in Auckland. ‘Phase 1-Pacific Rim’ is currently being planned, with the proposed hosting Locations being, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong and Los Angeles… to start.
