Beyond The Beat Season 2 Episode 1 – ‘Cowboy Up’

Kaylee Bell’s Cowboy Up is country through and through – a playful but pointed song about showing up, committing and making a choice: cowboy up or cowboy out. You’re either in, or you’re gone.

For Myshaan, taking on a song so deeply rooted in country music is initially intimidating. The language, imagery and attitude sit far outside his own musical world, and he isn’t immediately sure how he is going to make the song feel authentic to him.

But when he sits down with Kaylee and hears her talk about what the song really means, something clicks.

In one of Season 2’s most unlikely transformations, Cowboy Up proves that even when the genre, perspective and emotional tone completely change, the heart of a song can remain intact.
