Cate Le Bon to Perform This June for Lōemis 2026

Midwinter arts festival Lōemis in association with Suzie Says is thrilled to announce the return of surrealist art-pop musician, composer and producer Cate Le Bon.

Performing in Te Whanganui-a-Tara at Meow Nui on Saturday June 6th, Cate Le Bon takes the stage with an exclusive preview glimpse into the lineup Lōemis will unveil in its entirety on Thursday 26th of March (With ticket presale live from Friday 27th).

Festival director Andrew Laking said the programme has been in the works for the better part of a year and he is looking forward to finally sending it out into the wild. It’s a perfect teaser of what’s to come for Lōemis 2026!

Susie Says! is equally excited to announce Luke Buda as Wellington support for this special Lōemis Festival kick-off performance!

Luke Buda has a solid history of writing some of Aotearoa’s catchiest tunes as part of The Phoenix Foundation, earworms with Lawrence Arabia (Apple Pie Bed) and Sir Dave Dobbyn (Harmony House), compositions for several films (Hunt For The Wilderpeople, Boy, Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie) and contributed to the Morrisey-ribbing Simpson’s song Everyone Is Horrid Except Me (And Possibly You) by Quilloughby feat. Lisa Simpson. Buda’s most recent album, Buda, was shortlisted for the Taite Prize in 2021. He brings these songs and more alive as heralded opener for Cate Le Bon.

The genius of Luke Buda’s all-star band is comprised of Olivia Campion (Yumi Zouma) on drums, Jacqui Nyman (Bret McKenzie) on bass, Tessa De Lyon (Mystery Waitress) on guitar and Moses Buda on keys. And Luke Buda, of course!
