Just Janie’s Cherry responds to David Sheff’s memoir ‘Beautiful Boy’ and the haunting bond between father & son, strained by addiction. “You’re not the only one, who feels what you’ve become, It’ll break me too”.

Recorded in a cozy lounge studio, hugging a hot water bottle, Cherry blends Joni-esque vocals and lilting mandolin, existing between Bic Runga’s Drive and Joni’s Blue. “We wanted this track to feel haunting, so we explored different approaches to singing, and landed with snuggling up and creating a bedroom- ballad.”
