Little Wild Music presents Claudia Robin Gunn’s single ‘Road Works’ – and her new ‘Playful’ EP
Claudia Robin Gunn writes songs for children that parents love too.
From learning songs for littlies to fun family jams and soothing lullabies, Claudia creates music about all the seasons of childhood. Nature’s rhythms from the garden to the ocean, growing up with kindness and values, and why exactly a parent must never tear down a living room fort on the day it was made.
In Claudia’s Little Wild Music collections, listeners will find melodies for the most critical audience of all: children, and the grown-ups who care for them.
Today Claudia is very pleased to release her Playful EP, and she says, “Playful revisits my Toybox Era of motherhood!
It’s a good few years since my kids had the living room floor strewn with diggers, dinosaurs and building blocks from the toybox,
These are some of the songs i started writing for and about their playtime fun back in the era of play dough and picnics at the playground. I loved being a “roll up my sleeves and help build the marble run” kind of mum, a “let the living room fort stay up for three days and have breakfast by fairy light” kind of parent.
I love seeing kids’ imaginations bloom. and these songs are little slice of the joy that I have felt and witnessed around me in family life. I’m thrilled to see and hear them rolling, digging, clicking and roaring their way into the world on this mini album aptly titled Playful.
I’m super grateful for NZ On Air Tamariki’s support that allowed me to build a bigger team of trusted collaborators, and download a few of the songs in my head to help make a more musical world for our Tamariki.”
The Playful EP contains six bright and snappy songs, joined by matching kids karaoke instrumentals, ideal for ages 2 to 5.
The audio production is by frequent collaborator Tom Fox with additional instrumentation by Marshall Smith. Claudia’s new videos to match each tune are directed by Michelle Sokolich, with styling by Evie Kemp, in an imaginary garden setting.

The other songs from Playful have been popping out over the past few months, with Fire Truck, Tiny Titanosaur, Let’s Go Play, Peekaboo Birdies and Dinosaur Garden Party now being joined by the brand new song Road Works.
After Playful, there are two more specially-themed EPs yet to come: Helpful in May, and Wonderful in July, with all three being released as one album on August 29th.
