Coolethan & Emma Dilemma Drop Haunting Visuals for ‘Late Nights’

US artist Coolethan and New Zealand alt-pop powerhouse Emma Dilemma have teamed up once again to deliver a sinister, stylish visual for their track Late Nights; a ghostly, genre-blending anthem about chasing the party deep into the darkness.
Directed by Ian Sweeney and produced by Johnny Gilbert, the music video leans fully into the song’s spooky metaphors and late-night mania. It conjures a surreal, cinematic world full of shadowy figures, flashing lights, and the eerie feeling that something is following you home – a visual echo of the track’s hypnotic beat and themes of escapism, chaos, and emotional come-downs.
Late Nights also marks Emma Dilemma’s debut foray into the rap genre, unveiling a gritty new facet of the genre-fluid artist. Her fierce delivery pairs seamlessly with Coolethan’s brooding production and signature flow, creating a sound that’s dark, infectious, and unexpected.
“We wanted to capture that moment where the night turns, when the fun starts to feel dangerous,” says Coolethan’s Jeffrey Tune (aka The MC Type). “Ian and Johnny nailed that atmosphere in the video. It’s beautifully uncomfortable.”
The track is taken from the pair’s second collaborative EP, Morning, Noon and Night, which dropped earlier this year. The EP version also features a verse from Stefon Leron Alexander, better known by his stage name P.O.S, an American hip hop artist from Minneapolis. It follows their debut 2024 project Remain / Down / Still – two EPs in twelve months that showcase the duo’s fearless experimentation, genre-bending chemistry, and love for the shadowy corners of pop, hip hop, and alternative music.
“Working with Coolethan has opened up a whole new creative space for me,” says Emma Dilemma. “I’d never rapped on a track before and it was scary and exciting in the best way. The whole vibe of Late Nights felt like stepping into a haunted dream.”
