Coridian Release New Single 'rakshasa' Feat. Michael Murphy

Coridian are set to release their second single Rakshasa from their much anticipated album Hava (due early 2023), the 4th in their Elements Series of albums. Rakshasa is a Hindu Sanskrit word – in short it translates to a malevolent demon spirit that consumes us.

Teaming up with Written By Wolves powerhouse vocalist Michael Murphy, this song will take you on a journey of emotional highs and lows. With a riff heavy, driving and intense opening to verse, an emotive hooky chorus into trance inducing bridge before unleashing a destructive and huge ending.

With the driving Coridian powerhouse, Rakshasa showcases another taste of what this album has to offer. Rakshasa will be accompanied by an incredible music video by up and coming Kiwi director Rob Hartnell which will literally keep your mind in a loop.

Rakshasa blends hard & heavy alternative rock with huge melody & a tinge of progressive & emo.

The song’s lyrical themes cover addiction, something we all struggle with. Slowly eating away at us, till we are just husks of a being. Be it drugs or alcohol, our devices or our bad habits – we all have that demon lurking over our shoulder, pressing to feed that hunger.

Future:

Rakshasa is the 2nd single from Coridian’s upcoming full-length album Hava and the final release in the element’s series following from Oceanic EP (2015), Caldera EP (2017) & Eldur (EP) (2020). Following on from the release of their first single Endless War (released in December 2021) which received extensive radio play throughout NZ, radio chart appearances & humbling reviews, Rakshasa is going to turn it up to eleven for Coridian fans and listeners everywhere, followed by a massive six show tour around New Zealand.

Rakshasa will be promoted throughout September, October and November, pumped by shows and the ‘Elements’ tour. Coridian will be playing an All Ages show at Auckland’s Spark Arena’s Tuning Fork in November alongside some of NZ’s elite including Written by Wolves & Shepherds Reign and touring the North Island with Pull Down The Sun and a huge roster of support bands throughout September & October. As well as these shows, their full length album will be mixed and mastered for an early 2023 release, continued filming for a behind the album documentary, releasing more singles, music videos & playthroughs and continuing to build, grow and create. 2023 will be the year of Hava, album release and full national tour across both islands with potential shows in Australia and the Islands.
