Dictaphone Blues Returns with New Music
Dictaphone Blues (the musical moniker of Edward Castelow) returns with IOU, a shimmering chunk of indie rock, laden with all the fruits of the genre – such as but not limited to:
– Big drums
– Fuzz guitar
– Heavy bass grooves
– A crappy sounding drum machine
– A guitar solo, twice!
– Singing and harmony
It’s about beating yourself up mentally and finding it hard to be kind to yourself. We live in a batshit crazy world and if you’re lucky enough to find something that can clear your mind and help you measure out safely, do it. For me it’s always been music.
Chalking up three albums and two EPs, this is the first Dictaphone Blues release since 2023’s Greetings From Glen Eden EP. IOU is also the first taste of Further Works, a full length album mixed by Shannon Fowler (aka Tom Lark) and set for release in early 2027.
