Johnson says “Your Sadness is the sixth single from my new album Some Night Somewhere, which I can finally announce is out on October 5th!.”

Your Sadness is a very simple song about trying to cheer someone up by taking a drive in the desert. I felt like both characters needed to be on the recording, and so I asked my old friend Mel Parsons if she would sing on it and she kindly agreed…her voice is a great match with mine and I’m very happy with how it turned out.”

Greg Johnson’s new album Some Night Somewhere is out on Friday October 5th .

He says of the album, “The title sums it up.

The album is a collection of vignettes, some real some not. I’m realising with age that my songs are almost always imaginary Trailers for non existent short films. If I wasn’t so lazy I probably would’ve tried to be a filmmaker.

The sound is full sonic palette, 100% real instruments (real synthesizers!) played and sung by carefully modified humans, all friends and familiars from my live and studio work.

It has loads of trumpet and even a saxophone solo by the amazing Sylvain Carton. I designed this collection for vinyl with two distinct sides. Pairs well with dark red stone fruit and hints of tobacco snorted off an old leather glove.”
