John Summit, Ki/Ki, Netsky to Headline Final Rhythm & Vines

Rhythm and Vines has unveiled the first release of artists set to perform at the “Final Dance in Gisborne”, led by global electronic heavyweights John Summit, Ki/Ki and Netsky.

The announcement follows last week’s confirmation that the festival’s 24th edition will be its final celebration at Waiohika Estate before Rhythm and Vines relocates in 2027. Bringing together major international debuts, returning festival favourites and iconic Aotearoa artists, the lineup sets the stage for a fitting farewell to the festival’s historic Gisborne home – and the ultimate way to send 2026 off in style.

Joining the headliners are 1991, BENEE, Friction presents Synergy, Luude, Mall Grab, Sir Dave Dobbyn and Vince Staples. Also announced is the special collaborative performance “The Final Sunset” by Te Wehi & Hori Shaw. UK bass heavyweight Hamdi will headline the Waiohika Warmup on 28 December, exclusive to onsite campers.

John Summit makes his Rhythm and Vines debut as one of the defining names in contemporary house music. Known for bringing underground club energy to the world’s biggest festival stages, his first Waiohika Estate performance is set to be one of the biggest dance music moments of the festival’s final Gisborne chapter.

Also making her R&V debut is Amsterdam DJ and producer Ki/Ki, whose high-intensity mix of techno, trance and acid has established her as one of the most exciting artists in global electronic music.

Few international artists share a connection with Rhythm and Vines like Netsky, who returns for his eighth appearance. The Belgian producer last performed at R&V in 2020, making a surprise appearance as the only international artist on the festival’s otherwise all-Aotearoa lineup during the COVID-19 border restrictions. His return for Chapter 24 brings one of the festival’s most enduring artist relationships full circle.

Vince Staples returns for his second Rhythm and Vines performance, having last appeared at Waiohika Estate in 2018. Following the release of his guitar-driven album Cry Baby, the Long Beach artist will perform with a full live band, delivering a markedly different experience from his previous appearance.

Aotearoa will be strongly represented by global pop artist BENEE and New Zealand music icon Sir Dave Dobbyn, whose catalogue of defining songs will create a fitting moment during the festival’s final Gisborne celebration. Award-winning reggae group Corrella and Hamilton’s Son & Water will also take the stage.

Drum and bass remains firmly at the heart of Rhythm and Vines, with Netsky, Friction presents Synergy and Luude joined by 1991, A Little Sound, Andromedik, Arcando, Lens, Witters & MC Crafty and Rova.

The wider electronic programme includes Mall Grab, Sachi, Jackie Hollander and more, while Songer, Corrella, Frost Children and Oskar Med K add further depth across hip-hop, pop and live music.

The release also celebrates talent from closer to home, including Gisborne DJ and producer Messie, alongside a new generation of emerging Aotearoa artists. The programme will also feature Jamil Forever Tribute By Brazilbeat & Parallel Layers, a tribute to much loved DJ Jamil Sabda.

With more artists still to be announced, Chapter 24 is shaping up as a final celebration fitting of Rhythm and Vines’ long history at Waiohika Estate – giving Gisborne the send-off it deserves as New Zealand welcomes 2027.
